Getting started:
Work with your Account Executive to reach out and collaborate with the Delinea Professional Services team or your regular Delinea-Certified Business Partner to begin migrating your on-premise Secret Server environment to Secret Server on the Delinea Platform.
Delinea has created three different-sized Delinea Platform Migration Packages to support migrating customers. The Delinea Professional Services team will size your environment and apply the right package for your organization. How long a migration takes will depend on the size and complexity of your environment. Please note that if one of our standard packages does not fit your enterprise's needs, we can also assist with bespoke solutions for your migration.

As part of the package, a Delinea Certified Consultant will:

Guide you through configuring the Delinea Platform, migrating your secrets and configuration, and enabling your users to experience capabilities on the Delinea Platform.

Provide you with hands-on experience and training, along with Delinea migration best practices, to complete the migration.

If you already have entitlement to Resilient Secrets, which many Secret Server customers are already using to support disaster recovery and replication, the Professional Services team can build Resilient Secrets into your migration plan to support additional availability requirements of your business.
Prerequisites for a Smooth Migration:
To ensure the smoothest experience before beginning a migration, we recommend that customers take the following steps to prepare:

Take the free Delinea Platform 101 training, so you are familiar with the new platform UI, capabilities, and workflows.

Run our system inventory report, which will be provided to you by the Delinea Professional Services team, to assess your environment and map to the appropriate migration package.

When starting a migration project, the Delinea Professional Services team works with you to create a migration overview task list, assign owners, and schedule working sessions. From that point, there are 5 phases to most migration projects. They include:
Phase 1
Pre-migration data gathering and deployment: Phase 1 includes project initiation, requirements analysis, and migration project planning. It also includes deploying the target Delinea Platform Secret Server environment.
Phase 2
Migration: During Phase 2, the Professional Services team works with you to export data and migrate it, in stages, into the target system, per the migration plan.
Phase 3
Customer Quality Assurance: Phase 3 includes connectivity testing and validation, configuration, and basic functionality testing to ensure the migration was successful.
Phase 4
Validation and User Acceptance Testing: During Phase 4, the Professional Services team will collaborate with you to remediate any discovered issues with the migration by reviewing the environment and addressing any issues.
Phase 5
Project Closeout: For Phase 5, the Professional Services team finalizes artifacts and documentation and works with you on an operational handoff.
