How Delinea Platform Customers Achieved $2.2M in Annual ROI

For most security leaders, proving the value of their tools has become as much a part of the job as using them. Budget cycles are tighter, adding pressure to justify even the most critical investments. Identity security is no exception.

As organizations scale, that pressure compounds. More identities to manage. More access to govern. And with the rise of agentic AI, there is a new class of identity to secure: autonomous, non-human, and they’re often granted broader access than anyone fully intended.

The Delinea Platform extends privileged access management to cover AI agents, applying the same controls and visibility used to govern human identities, with runtime enforcement that operates at machine speed.

To measure what that’s worth in practice, we partnered with independent research firm UserEvidence to survey more than 200 of our customers to uncover the ROI they’ve achieved. Here’s what they told us.

Delinea Platform ROI by the numbers

Organizations using the Delinea Platform reported an average annual ROI of over $2.2 million, driven by two primary sources:

  1. $2.1M in average annual incident prevention savings

  2. $163.4K in average annual labor cost savings from automated workflows

Taken together, those numbers represent tangible outcomes for our customers: fewer breaches, less time spent on manual tasks, and fewer situations where the team is reacting to something that should have been preventable.

Fewer breaches, faster detection

Many of our enterprise customers face a common scale challenge: thousands of systems and users, and access environments that need to stay secure without creating friction for the business. The survey results show that the Delinea Platform has been a game-changer across the board. Our customers saw:

  • 33% decrease in security incidents or breaches

  • 49% improvement in the ability to detect threats and anomalies

  • 44% decrease in unauthorized remote access by employees and vendors

The underlying reason is fairly simple. When you centralize visibility, there’s no patchwork of disconnected tools leaving gaps for threats to hide in.

Access policies are enforced consistently, so unauthorized attempts get caught earlier in the chain. Getting to that state takes real work, but once you’re there, the security posture improves considerably.

Getting time (and sanity) back

I’ve heard some version of this comment more times than I can count. Manual compliance work—password rotation, audit prep, access reviews—often still falls on real people working overtime. On average, our UserEvidence survey found that customers experienced:

  • 2,236 hours saved annually on identity security tasks

  • 18% increase in security team productivity

  • 33% reduction in time spend on compliance and audit tasks

The saved hours have a real impact. UL Solutions’ experience highlights what that means in practice for security teams.

Lifting the manual burden lets security practitioners actually focus on work that requires skilled judgment, like threat hunting, policy refinement, and the strategic projects that kept getting pushed when the queue was full.

Visibility as the starting point

Speed of deployment is one thing, but speed of impact is what actually moves the needle for security teams. On the whole, our customers have seen meaningful improvements in how they see and control their environments:

  • 39% improvement in visibility into privileged credentials, accounts, and activity

  • 33% improvement in control over privileged access policies and enforcement

  • 32% improvement in manageability of identities and credentials

I tell customers that you can’t govern what you can’t see. Knowing which privileged accounts exist, who is using them, and under what conditions is the prerequisite for everything else: enforcing policy, passing audits, reducing risk.

Organizations that get that visibility right tend to find the rest of the work goes considerably smoother.

Putting it together

Looking across these results, the outcomes reinforce each other in ways that are hard to capture in any single metric. Better visibility helps detect threats faster. Faster detection keeps incidents from escalating. Fewer incidents free up team capacity. More capacity means more time spent on the work that reduces risk over time.

The consolidation finding underscores this: 94% of customers reported consolidating their security tools using the Delinea Platform. When organizations pull their identity security strategy into one platform, they are not just simplifying the stack, they’re making a longer-term bet on coherence over complexity. That tends to pay off in ways that show up beyond the direct ROI numbers: lower operational overhead, clearer audit trails, and a security posture that holds up as the business grows.

The full report puts real data behind what our customers tell us in conversations every day. If you’re evaluating your identity security strategy or building the case internally for investment, it’s worth your time.
